Day Dreaming and Designing A New Blog
As I sit here trying to add something new to my blog of life musings, I find myself wishing to be away. Far away. Actually Key West Florida away away. It is a hot 100+ degree day in this northern Virginia suburb of Washington DC and I am inside an air-conditioned coffee shop updating my long neglected blog. Yet, my mind wanders to a photograph of a boat on the ocean. A photograph which I took at a pier in Key West near the Mallory Square docks while my husband, Jack Russell Terrier and I were having a picnic lunch. It was just a quick bite to eat as we were expecting some unusual rainy weather that day. But, we were just holding out long enough to enjoy this beautiful, pristine, and serene view.

The Etsy Shop Keeper's Dilema
Selling on Etsy is a very interesting experience. I had a high last month and quite a low this month. But, it always boils down to the same "thing" for me. Questioning my shop keeping techniques.
Am I doing the right thing with my Etsy Shop? Does it look professional? Am I making it the best and easiest shopping experience for my clientelle? Am I keeping them in my shop long enough so that they can see my best work? Intriguing questions, yet largely rhetorical. How ironic it is. This of course keeps me obsessing.
So, for this week's new obsession and improvement - question mark - this has yet to be shown as an improvement of course. New Earring Sections. I broke up my earring sections to a similar way of shopping from my original Fine Heart website.
So, introducing, on my Etsy shop - Shopping for Earrings by material category. Crystals or Bali Silver, Gemstones, Pearls or Shells.

and the debate goes on...
to blog or not to blog that is the question. just to quote some famous dude from a long time ago. it keeps coming up over and over again. okay let me start from the beginning. it IS a very good place to start. okay, enough of that now. basically, the banner year of 2010 is when i decided to take my ETSY (aet - see) shop seriously. thus the beginning of the obsession of researching strategies, techniques, visiting other etsy shops, joining the endless banter and communicae on the etsy forums, hundreds of hours reading and taking in advice and learning. after many many hours of this, i come to the conclusion that "blogging" is a good thing for an etsy shop owner like me. so, i guess, for now, i blog.
